"FAT FOR AN ASIAN:" THE PRESSURE TO BE NATURALLY PERFECT

This is a great article that I can totally relate to! I don't fit the stereotype : Asians are naturally"petite and thin".  When I went back to my Chinese friend's house in Beijing, the first thing my friend said to me was: "Oh you got fat." I laughed it off, but it  really hurt. It's not like I sit on my butt all the time. I run cross country and swim for my high school. I've always felt embarrassed that I was the big boned  and "fat Asian".

Gift Of Adoption

Hey guys! Hope everyone had a relaxing and fun filled Labor Day weekend. I just wanted to share a really cool charity with you all. At CCI we always are looking for ways to give back to the adoption community.

We recently came across a charity called Gift of Adoption.

Gift of Adoption:"provides grants to families who couldn't otherwise afford to welcome a child home..."

This charity currently gives about 100 adoption grants a year. By 2015 they would like to be able to give about 365 grants a year!! If you have time, please check out their website and help them reach their goal!

Thanks so much,
